After PCB proofing, do you still need to patch yourself?

Whether PCB is tested or mass-produced, it is necessary to verify whether there is any problem with PCB products by using a template first. Simply speaking, PCB proofing is the trial production before mass production. It is the process that electronic engineers start small batch trial production to the factory after designing the circuit and completing the PCB Layout design.
After PCB proofing, smt should be carried out, and the required components should be soldered to the PCB board, before the product function test can be carried out. So, do you have to patch the pcb after proofing?
There are two situations for this problem:
The customer simply asks the pcb factory to make a model, and the PCB received by the customer is only a light board, so the customer needs to find the electronic components for welding after the PCB proofing.
When the customer proofing, it indicates that pcb manufacturers need to provide smt placement service, so that after the PCB proofing, the electronic components do not need to be placed by themselves, and the customer finally receives the PCBA circuit board.
Of course, there are some additional costs for manufacturers to provide smt services, including whether manufacturers need to purchase electronic components, or customers need to provide components themselves, and pcb manufacturers need to weld them.
I hope the above content will be helpful to you ~
Tips: If you want pcb manufacturers to purchase components, you need to provide a bom list to the board factory.
